Roger: Emily was in foster care. Our paperwork indicated she was in the orphanage but when we met the orphanage director, he said had been in foster care.

Tammy: Emily’s Chinese name is Fu Lian Na. Lian means lotus flower and Na means beautiful figure.

Martha asked: When will you be able to get her an American passport?
Roger: Emily will not actually leave with an American passport. This is something we would have to apply for in the states. She will be traveling home with us via an IR-3 immigrant visa.
Martha asked: Where ARE those bows I saw on Facebook???
Tammy: I actually forgot to bring some
Martha asked: Where did all the "baby equipment" I've seen in the pictures come from? Please tell me you didn't have to haul all that with you?
Roger: The stroller and crib were supplied by the hotel. We did bring pretty much everything else...clothes, toys, diapers, etc.
Martha asked: Have you adjusted fairly well to the time change?
Tammy: We are doing well with the time change. It is Emily’s time that keeps us on our toes!!!

Tammy: Emily Lian Na Kathryn Scott
Kate asked: 2nd - will she have a Chinese birth certificate and US birth certificate and do you know her "back story" like where she was found or came from?

Wow, you guys are the best. Ryan, you made me laugh out loud, too! That lotus flower is weird! Looked kind of like a nut. Emily, when you are old enough to read this - and if you are anything like your mom (whom we all LOVE) - you will be saying, "What was the big deal with all the bows??" Hopefully, your mom will humor us all before the point of you being able to read this - and won't forget to put a bow in your hair when you get home to Texas! :-)
ReplyDeleteWell the bows are right next to the changing table so maybe I wont forget to use them :) Thanks to Aunt Lisa they are VERY handy HA
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your posts and keeping up with you guys. Emily is adorable, and you all look like you're doing great in China. I just read Emily's full name, and my mouth dropped open. Did you know our Emily's name is Emily Kathryn (yep, spelled the same way)? Also, our Emily has a January b-day, and I believe yours does, too! I think that's pretty cool. :) So excited for you all.
