Beginnings and Endings

Welcome to the Operation Emily travel journal.  We want to share our journey to China with all of you .   Check back here for updates, pictures and stories of our China adventures.  Feel free to leave us comments.  We want Emily to be able to look back on this and see how many people prayed her home!

August 7th, 2011 (the day we meet Emily) marks the official beginning of a new chapter in our lives and the end to our 6 year journey of adopting a little girl from China.   Thanks to each of you who have walked along side us through these years .   The moment has arrived!

I am so sorry about the tropical storm (that might hit me) sharing your name...No worries - A little wind and rain is well worth it to have you and your family finally together. Travel safe - ask for the Benadryl - can't wait to see you!

  8. Emily,

5 days and counting....I can't believe this day is almost here. By the time you are old enough to read this you will already know how lucky you are having Tammy and Roger as your Mom and Dad, those 2 are great! For 5 years I watched the excitement build as the date grew closer and closer and when that most important email came I have never seen a Dad filled with more joy than what your Dad had on that day. Welcome to America sweet girl!

Remember that your brothers rooms are where all the cool stuff is. You must always go in there and get into their things. They will not mind!!

  12. Emily,
You are one blessed little girl. You have awsome parents and two great brothers who have loved you for a very long time. You were loved and prayed for by so many people long before you were even born. I'm looking forward to being part of your life.

  19. Emily, You will never understand how long your family has waited for this special day. Mallory, my little girl from China, has been watching all the pictures from your trip. She was so excited at 6:30 this morning to see you with your mommy. She can't wait to have a "China Friend" in Garland. Hilary

  20. It is so sweet to see how Emily is already becoming more comfortable with her "forever family". In 4 years you will look back and never remmeber the days before she was in your life. (Next thing you know she will be headed to kindergarten life mine.)

Isn't God amazing. A little girl you have been praying for the past 6 years is now your daughter and finally in your arms! Adoption is such a precious gift!

  25. Ryan and Jonny,

What has been the craziest thing you have eaten so far?

Wasn't Walmart fun! Be glad your mom does not grocery shop there. You could have frog, eel or dried fish for dinner! :)

  26. For Roger and Tammy: What's with Emily's funny hair? It's all from the back crown and so long. Too cute! Will she grow hair on the front of her head?
